Finally feeling better

It's been a rough start to the week - Emmy got another double ear infection and this one was a real doozy. But finally finally she slept better last night thank GOD. I was starting to doze off at work and my brain stopped working Monday afternoon. Not so good for work. She is on a stronger medicine. Amoxycillin with a kick. It seems to be doing the trick but she really really hates taking it. We have to pry her mouth open and force it in and she always gets her tongue in there and spits it right back out. I'm hoping some is getting in there at least!
Otherwise Emmy is doing wonderfully. She new enjoys trying to pull herself up. If you sit her on your lap next to the couch she will pull herself up and thinks that is pretty major! Yesterday we took a walk with the whole Markell clan but she only made it 1/2 the way in the stroller so I had to carry her home. Luckily I had the Baby Bjorn. She smiled the rest of the way home as soon as she got her way. She knows how to get what she wants already from me which could be trouble!
We are going to have my side of the family over for Easter. It will be fun to see the cousins. My little neice Anna is hilarious. She spent Monday afternoon flipping through the JCrew catalog looking at shoes and yesterday wouldnt take off my sister's winter hat because she said it's the fashion. (She is about 2 1/2)
My computer is being silly so I cant post a picture at the moment but will when I get a chance. Emmy is getting SO BiG!

2nd Photo Shoot

Emmy got her 2nd of 3 Photo shoots done today that I had bought with a package last year before she was born. She was a little over 7 months and did and outstanding job. Always was looking at the camera, not sure if it's because she was curious about it, or she's such a ham, but we got some great shots- here are some previews, I will post the link to all when I get it in about a week or 2. She did so great we were done in 45 minutes! That made Dad very happy - I cant wait to see the rest!

Spring is near

We enjoyed some sun on the patio with our neigbors this week. It was sooo nice out. Here are some pics -

Those Crazy cousins

We just got back from Northfield visiting the cousins. Although Claire still seems light years ahead of Emmy developmentally - the age difference doesn't seem as large anymore! It was good to see them and Grandma!!

We had a great time, and after 2 long days in the airport we are all home...long story but our first flight was cancelled after a tire was blown out and they couldn't replace it... Emmy did great - loved the sunshine and being naked. Every where we went people pointed and said how cute she was. Even the airline stewardess wanted to steal her even though she had a bit of crying during the flight. They had a name for her - baby dumpling. The trip was a lot of fun, lots of time on the beach and pool, we took a trip to a fishing island which was cute, spent some time at Wet and Wild, went shopping and just relaxed. But after the long flight home Brad said our next vacation will be at Wisconsin Dells! ;)

This is Erma- she cooked and cleaned up after us all week. She was so sweet - she didnt know much English but every morning ran to Emmy and said Hola Baby - she loved her!! Had to have all her other friends come over and see the "chubby American baby".

Emmy was so happy being outside - this was her first sunset over the ocean...

And this was her first time on the beach feeling the sand and water. She didn't love this so much as it was pretty windy for her - but she sure was cute!

Very tuckered out after full days of excitement. She will be so bored now that she is home!

Cousins

Yesterday the cousins came for a visit - it was fun to see them. Claire looks so big- she is crawling all over. Anna and her are sooo opposite! Claire is a little bruiser and Anna is very girly and dainty. She had a runny nose and kept asking for a tissue. She is so funny. Little Hannie came over too to see the crazy cousins. I think she was a little shocked! Claire likes to scream and I'm not sure Hannah knew what to think of that! My favorite part is that when Emmy threw up on her pants, and so I just took them off, Anna decided she was going to take off her pants too! And then you have little Hannie looking like absolute perfection in an adorable red cardigan with a little white ruffled button up and cute jeans on!

Brad made salmon on the grill on the cedar board - it was very good!

Emmy is doing pretty well but we are having a heck of a time getting her to take her medicine! But we had a better night. Today we have dinner at the Markell's. It's nice to have such great neighbors! We are meeting our neighbors that live next door as the husband leaves for his second tour of duty on Tuesday. Then I think we have to go get a new carseat and a little stroller for Mexico!!

On to the next problem

poor emmy - now she has a double ear infection. I kind of thought something was up, she was not eating much but when she started tugging at her ears I had a pretty good idea. brad took her in today and she has an ear infection in both ears. :( such a trooper though, hasn't cried too much, just not sleeping as well and not eating so hopefully the antibiotics make her feel better very very soon! i'm sure she is tired of not feeling well!
i'll post a video of her "fake coughing" later - well at least i thought it was fake coughing?? right now i'm sitting in the driveway in brad's truck. she fell asleep on the way home from the doctor's and i didnt want to wake her up - she needs her sleep and i get an internet connection in here so i'm just working away.
mexico on wednesday! the doctor said emmy should be just fine by then, thank goodness we caught this today!
